Lending a hand and helping neighbors in need is exactly what Northside ISD superintendent, Dr. Brian Woods and NISD staff signed up to do at Gus Stadium. NISD is used to hosting athletics events at Gus Stadium but today they teamed up with the San Antonio Food Bank to feed families.

The NISD team were able to provide food to several hundred families. The NISD Facebook post stated, “Thank you to all the NISD volunteers from schools and departments who make us so proud to be one #NISDFamily#BetterTogether .”

School buildings may be shuttered for the remainder of the academic year, yet that did not stop the incredible efforts of the Northside Independent School District to open their hearts and spend time helping friends and families in need.

The San Antonio Food Bank is in need of contributions and volunteers to help meet the surge in demand with the onset of Covid-19. To help San Antonio neighbors in need, please visit https://safoodbank.org/ways-to-help/give-time/.
