What is the Student Ambassador Program?
The mission of the Mayor’s Fitness Council Student Ambassador Program is to involve youth in improving the health of San Antonio. Student Ambassadors represent the Mayor’s Fitness Council by promoting and encouraging healthy living at their campus and in their communities. Each Student Ambassador is required to implement a health-related service project in their school or community.
How do I get involved?
The Mayor’s Fitness Council is looking for role models, leaders, idea creators, and change makers to empower their schools, friends, and families to lead healthier lives. Students who are rising sixth through tenth graders are welcome to apply.

Mayor’s Fitness Council Student Mentors
Mayor’s Fitness Council Student Mentors are students who have first served as Mayor’s Fitness Council Student Ambassadors. Once a student ambassador has finished their one year academic term they may apply to join the Student Mentor Team.
Student Mentors offer peer to peer instruction, motivation, encouragement and camaraderie to student ambassadors participating in the student ambassador program working to complete their required service project.
Student Mentors attend all trainings and workshops with student ambassadors, as well as work to build and strengthen their leadership skills with exciting networking events and unique skill building opportunities.
Thank You to the YMCA!

Each year the YMCA of Greater San Antonio provides Mayor’s Fitness Council Student Ambassadors, Student Mentors and their families as well as Campus Mentors complimentary memberships to encourage families to stay active while serving in the Student Ambassador Program.
